How do I know if my roof has storm damage?
Most homeowners don’t realize what qualifies as storm damage, because the worst of it hides. Hail bruises a shingle’s mat and knocks off the granule layer that protects it from UV — damage that may not leak for a year but has already shortened the roof’s life. Wind lifts and creases shingles, breaks seals, and tears flashing. Debris impact cracks tiles and dents metal. A free inspection is the only reliable way to know what a storm did to your roof.
Banner inspects for all of it — hail bruising and granule loss, wind-lifted and creased shingles, damaged flashing and vents, and impact damage — and we document what we find in detail, with photographs.
Our storm restoration process
1. Free storm damage assessment. A Banner team member inspects your roof directly. Where storm damage makes a roof unsafe to walk, or leaves angles a person can’t reach, our FAA-licensed drone pilot supplements the inspection so the assessment is complete.
2. Thorough documentation. We document the damage in the formats insurance carriers commonly request — photographs, measurements, and a clear description of what we found. You have a complete, professional record of your roof’s condition.
3. Written scope and estimate. We provide a detailed scope of work and repair estimate. If you’re filing a claim, that’s the documentation you and your carrier need to evaluate it accurately.
4. Restoration, once approved. Once your claim is approved — or independently, if you’re paying out of pocket — we manage the restoration from start to finish: materials, crews under OSHA 30-certified operational leadership, daily cleanup with magnetic nail sweeps, and a final walkthrough you sign off on.
Should I file an insurance claim after a storm?

How soon should I get my roof looked at after a storm?
